Winnsboro man indicted on sex charges
Mark Bertram Thompson, 53, formerly of Quitman, was indicted on two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a young child.
The girl’s Thompson allegedly had sex with was younger than age 14 and 11 at the time.
Winnsboro Police arrested Thompson in connection with the charge September 21.
Thompson is charged with a first-degree felony and faces the maximum penalty of life in prison. He remains in the Wood County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Randy Ellis, 71 of Quitman, aggravated sexual assault of a disabled person.
Justin Kyle Fitzgerald, 20, of Mineola, bail jumping and failure to appear.
Juan Carlos Galaz, 34, of Mineola, debit card abuse.
George Goforth 27, of Port St. Luce, Florida, burglary of a building.
Robert Hayes Gwin, 41, of Hawkins, aggravated assault date/family house with weapon.
Craig David Lawler, 43, of Mineola, possession of controlled substance penalty group one, less than one gram.
Rodrick Martin, 33, of Mineola, three counts of endangering a child.
Steven Alan Schwed, 26, of Alba, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary of a habitation.
